How Do You Enjoy The Caribou National Forest In Pocatello, Idaho?
Just a few minutes and five miles southeast of Pocatello, Idaho is a five mile stretch of the Caribou National Forest. The road itself is only five miles long with several places to stop and enjoy a hike. It even has a few camping sites. But if you don’t want to camp or only have an hour or two here is how to enjoy the Caribou National Forest. Take I-15 southwest from Pocatello, Idaho (towards Salt Lake City) and get off at the Portneuf exit. Travel towards the Mink Creek area, which is well marked by many signs. Turn right at the first parking area in the Caribou National Forest, Cherry Springs Nature Area. Take a picnic and water along with your camera and head out on the trail. You can go left from the restrooms, towards the gazebo or right. Both paths have picnic tables along them and include less-traveled paths as well as paved paths and run along the water.
