How Do You Enjoy Montreux, Switzerland?
Montreux is a beautiful lakeside town that is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. The small Swiss city is known worldwide for its innovative jazz festival that occurs every summer, but Montreux can make for a nice visit even when the jazz fest is not in town. Stay at the Hostelling International hostel that is located right on the lakefront. It has super cleans rooms and tasty meals that are prepared at the hostel. Anyplace else in the city will be very costly. As hostels go, this place is not cheap, but its waterfront location can’t be beat (see Resources below). Visit the Chateau Chillon. This castle is located just a few kilometers south of town, where the stately structure juts out onto the large lake to provide a stunning view of the surroundings. The “chateau”can be reached by the local Montreux bus. Here one can visit the inside of the castle and relish in its rich history. Walk along the lakefront.
