Mijas Costa del Sol is in Andalusia Spain in the Malaga province. Andalusia is located on the southern coast of Spain and has changed from an agricultural center to a major tourist destination. The climate is Mediterranean with cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. Malaga International Airport is located nearby for access from other countries, or it can be reached by train from Madrid. When you tire of lying in the sun, walk down the boulevard for some great local food at the beachside restaurants. On Wednesday and Saturday, there is a market with crafts, flowers, and produce. Or take the children to the nearby Mijas Aquatic Park, for water rides and fun. For a scenic side trip, head up to Mijas Pueblo where you can enjoy beautiful vistas of not only the Costa del Sol, but Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.
