How Do You Enjoy Governor Dodge State Park, Wisconsin?
Governor Dodge State Park is located in southwest Wisconsin about 45 miles from Madison. With approximately 5,000 acres of land, it is considered one of the state’s largest and most beautiful parks. Complete with more than 40 miles of hiking trails, year-round camping, man-made lakes for fishing and swimming and a host of other activities, this is a great place to spend a day or a weekend. Reserve your campsite. With about 269 regular sites, 80 with electricity and 8 sites available for groups, reservations are a breeze for this popular park. They may be made over the phone at (888) WI-PARKS or via the Internet (see below). There are also 11 horse campsites and 6 backpacking sites available via reservation. Electrical hook-ups are not available at any of these sites. Travel to Governor Dodge. Take Hwy 18 to Dodgeville (just west of Madison). Proceed north on Hwy 23 about 3 miles. The park entrance will be on the right. You can also reach the park by taking the Scenic Hwy 23 trail south
