The scenic town of Globe is just east of Phoenix in South Central Arizona. Globe was an old silver and copper mining town that has turned into an incredible place to visit. Nestled in the mountains and sprinkled with lakes, this town has become one of Arizona’s treasures. Hike in the Tonto National Forest along one of the several trails. They range in difficulty and length. Gamble at the Apache Gold Casino and Resort located on the Apache Indian Reservation. Play a little Keno then enjoy dinner and a show. Water-ski at one of local lakes. You can choose from Apache, Canyon, Roosevelt and San Carlos Lake. If you don’t ski, there are plenty of beaches to sunbathe or enjoy a book. Fly over the lakes and forests and get a different view of the area. Helicopters and small plane touring companies are more than happy to show off the city of Globe to visitors.
