How Do You Encrypt A Linksys Wireless Network?
Connecting a Linksys router to your Internet modem creates a wireless signal compatible devices can use to connect to the Internet. Encrypting your wireless network requires all users to provide the established password to gain access to the wireless Internet connection. This prevents unauthorized access from those who may be trying to hack into your computer or use your Internet signal without permission. Linksys networks can be encrypted with WEP or WPA encryption. Set up your Linksys router by connecting it to an electrical outlet, Internet modem and your computer. Follow the instruction manual for your specific router to properly set up your router and network. Go to the Linksys router configuration page (see Resources) using a web browser on the computer connected to the router.
