If your computer is running Windows XP Home Edition, and has Service Pack 2 installed, you can allow users on other computers to connect to your computer through the Internet. Once connected, you would be able to share your data files, such as word processing documents and spreadsheets, with the remote user. Remote connections are enabled in Windows XP Home by using the remote desktop connections tool. You can install the remote desktop connections tool using your Windows XP Home Edition CD. Place the Windows XP Home Edition CD in the CD drive of your computer. Windows will automatically open the Windows XP Home Edition Welcome page. Click the “Perform additional tasks” icon in the Welcome page. This will open the “What do you want to do?” page.
