How Do You Effectively Treat Head Lice?
The problem of head lice is more common than you might think. Although contracting head lice poses a major inconvenience, it can be treated effectively and naturally, in the comfort of your own home. Cover entire head with mayonnaise or olive oil, making sure all hair is saturated. Cover eyelashes, as well. Place shower cap on head, for at least 90 minutes. (Note: if possible, longer is better.)This treatment process will effectively smother the live lice. Rinse out mayonnaise or olive oil. Wash hair at least twice, with a mild shampoo. Comb hair with a lice comb. It’s best to separate hair into thin strands, one to two inches wide. If hair is long this process may be lengthy. Any live lice should be placed in a cup of rubbing alcohol where they will die. Remaining nit eggs must be removed by hand. They are white or clear in color and oval in shape.
