How Do You Educate Yourself In Summer Without Going To Summer School?
If summer school looks too intense, there are plenty of other ways to educate yourself during the season. Take advantage of your flexible schedule to do some learning of a different sort. Decide what you want to learn about. Do you want to master a foreign language? Brush up on your calculus? Learn about history? Get books on the topics you’re interested in by going to your local bookstore or library, or by shopping online. Visit a museum if it’s art that intrigues you: seeing the actual artwork is much more engaging than listening to a lecture or perusing Janson’s “History of Art.” Take trips to new places. Learn about their history, ecology and whatever else you find interesting. Chat with grandparents about their childhoods to discover how history played out in the lives of people you know.
