How Do You Edit A System Registry?

0

The Windows Registry is used by programs and by the operating system to store configuration information. While manual editing of the Registry is not usually required, you may occasionally have to go into the Registry Editor to change Registry Key values. Click on the “Start” button. If you are using Windows Vista/7, type “regedit” into the search bar and click on the “regedit” program that appears. If you are using XP, click on the “Run” option, type “regedit” into the Run window and click the “OK” button. Use the navigation pane on the left side of the Registry Editor window to go to the registry key you want to edit. Double-click on the registry key you want to edit, change its value and then click the “OK” button. The value of the registry key you edited is immediately changed and you can continue editing or close the Registry Editor window.
