How Do You Easily Remove Masking Tape?
Masking tape can become permanently stuck to many surfaces, including wood, wallpaper, paint and furniture, especially if it has been left for a long stretch of time. In some cases, the masking tape may begin to cause damage to the surface it is left on. To prevent difficulty stripping off masking tape, you should remove it immediately after use. Step 1 Position the hairdryer at least 3 inches away from the masking tape. Step 2 Turn on the hairdryer and use the high heat setting. Allow the hot air to blow directly on the masking tape for several minutes. This method will allow the adhesive of the masking tape to soften. Step 3 Pull the masking tape away from the surface. After heat has been applied, it should pull away easily. If it breaks apart, you may have to pull away the masking tape in sections. Step 4 Moisten a washcloth with hot water if the hairdryer is unsuccessful at removing the masking tape. Rub the towel over the masking tape that you wish to remove. After several passes,
