The California Board of Equalization (BOE) is making E-filing of Sales & Use tax mandatory. Perhaps your entity is not required at this time. However, as I recently learned from a conference I attended, the BOE will make it mandatory within a few years! It’s best to begin using their E-filing system since you will save time and money! Begin by going to the link: www.boe.ca.gov and click on the E-file logo on the top left. Click on Sales and Use Tax E-filing. Second, select BOE-file and click on the link under the Express Login logo. Third, enter the eight digit code provided at the top of your paper return. Lastly, enter your account number. * You are now ready to file your return or prepayment. First enter your account number (numeric portion only). Be sure to read and accept the “Declaration of Intent to File.” Second, enter your return/prepayment information. Be sure to verify the information on the “Review Filing” page.
