How Do You Dye A White Rose A Different Color?

0

Here’s a great project that will stump your house guests and friends. Dye white roses green, blue, or purple with food coloring and water. Get a fresh white rose, or a bunch of roses from a local flower shop or supermarket. Trim the stems off the roses a half inch from the bottom, at a diagonal angle in order to promote water absorption. Fill a vase with a small amount of water. Add a few drops of the food coloring you wish to use. Stronger colors work best. Use a lot of food coloring for the amount of water in the vase or container. If you wish to dye other roses different colors, use separate containers for each dye color. You can add multiple roses to each container. After a few days, the roses will absorb the dye and change color. Enhance the illusion by removing the roses from the dye vase(s) and adding them to a clear glass or plastic vase, filled with fresh clear water. The sight of clear water will make it harder for someone to guess that the roses were dyed.
