How Do You Dry Herbs For Tea?

0

Herbal tea is a healthy and refreshing beverage, either iced or hot. It’s perfect for waking up in the morning, relaxing before bed or warming up on a chilly day. Although you can purchase conveniently packaged herbal tea, you can also easily dry your own herbs for tea. The flavor will be rich and full, and the flavor more aromatic. Put the fresh herbs on a mesh rack and quick dry them in a warm oven. Heat the oven to a temperature of between 100 and 125 degrees F. Any more heat will destroy the oils in the herbs, so prop the door open slightly so it won’t be too warm. Smaller leaves will dry fast, so check and stir the herbs often. Air dry fresh herbs outdoors. Put the herbs in a large paper bag to protect them from insects, but be sure to punch several holes in the bag so air can circulate around the leaves. Hang the paper bag in a dry area away from direct sunlight. Larger leaves may still require a bit of heat to finish drying. Gather about 10 to 15 sprigs of fresh herbs in a bunch
