Driving a stick shift car isn’t difficult at all. With these guidelines you’ll know how to drive a manual transmission car in no time. We will need to start the car up so we turn the key but nothing happens. What gives? OK, have no fear. Nothing is wrong with the vehicle. With stick shift cars the clutch pedal must be pressed down, and then you turn the key and your vehicle will start up. Be sure that you have the car in neutral when starting it or your car will start dancing for you for a few seconds before shutting off if you have it in any other gear. OK, we now have the car started up. Now we push the clutch pedal down with our right foot also on the brake pedal and we put the car into first gear. Release the parking brake.
