How Do You Drive A Manual Motorcycle?
It would make sense that anyone who can ride a bicycle and drive a manual transmission car should know how to ride a motorcycle as doing so requires similar skills. Unlike a car, though, a motorcycle’s throttle, transmission and clutch are set up in reverse, requiring the rider to operate the clutch by hand and shifting by foot. This makes the simple task of rolling away from a standstill a complicated balancing act. The good news is that once you have this mastered, the rest will come naturally. Stand to the left of the motorcycle and grasp the handlebars. Pull in the brake lever with your index and middle fingers and hold it in place. Swing your right leg over the motorcycle and lower yourself onto the seat. Lift the motorcycle off of its kickstand and into an upright position.
