How Do You Drill & Saw Concrete?
Sometime during the construction or remodeling of your home you will need to breach a concrete barrier. Pipes or wires that need to cross he barrier will require you to drill a hole through concrete. Larger jobs, such as accessing a sewage line beneath the basement floor, will require sawing the concrete before digging can begin. Drilling and sawing through concrete are labor intensive tasks that require focus, physical ability, and a bit of know how to get the job done right. Hold the hammer drill in both hands. Check the hammer switch to insure that the hammer function is engaged. Place the bit against the spot to be drilled. Lean into the drill so that the weight of your body holds it firmly in place with the drill bit at a 90-degree angle to the surface of the concrete. Squeeze the trigger of the hammer drill to engage the bit. Keep your body centered so that the drill stays at a 90-degree angle to the surface you want to breach.
