The advent of powerful graphics programs has given artists new tools to practice their craft. Graffiti artists, in particular, can find these programs useful in creating unique works of art, which they often call tags. The abilities of layers and special effects, such as drop shadows and beveling, might just take tagging to a new level. While the mechanics of drawing remain much the same, the tools available in graphics programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter, change the workflow. Open your graphics program, and create a new blank file at your desired size. If you plan on printing your tag, use a letter-paper-sized document. Create a new layer.
