Drawing a floor plan will give you the opportunity to try a variety of possibilities for furniture placement, letting you know ahead of time whether or not the pieces will fit where you think you might want them. Here are easy steps to take in drawing your floor plan for your decorating project. Using a piece of graph paper (1/4″ grid), write the name of the room you are planning and your measurement key in the bottom right hand corner (ie: FAMILY ROOM – 1 block = 12″), so that you don’t forget the original measurement proportions that you decided upon for your floor plan.
