It can be extremely irritating when the washing machine breaks down. Unfortunately the only way to tell is when you try to wash your clothing and are left with a wet, sometimes soapy, mess. When presented with this ugly problem there are some steps you can follow to drain the machine yourself. This ranges from simple to complicated, depending on the exact problem that has disabled your machine. Usually a small article of clothing has blocked the washer drain. Gather your tools and get ready to get wet in the process. Locate the drainage hose, pump and filter. Check your owner’s manual for the description. If you cannot access these items easily from the outside of your machine you may have to call a repair person. Disconnect the drain hose. Make sure the end has been open (and cut) and that there is nothing plugging it. If the end is closed, cut the end off. Remove any blockage and let the water drain into the bucket.
