When you use Outlook Express to retrieve your email, it downloads the messages from the server to your computer. Email will automatically download when you launch the program, and at intervals when the program is open. If you are expecting a message, you can manually download new email without waiting for Outlook Express to automatically check the server. Launch Outlook Express. It will automatically check for new emails. Click “Send/Recv” to manually check your mail server for new emails. If an email has arrived since the last time Outlook Express checked, this will download the new message into your inbox. Click on your inbox. If you have new messages, they will be highlighted.
