How Do You Donate Used Childrens Books?
Rather than selling your used children’s books at a yard sale or throwing them away, donate them to a charity or organization that works with children. A story book is a wonderful distraction for a child in distress and you can feel good knowing your used children’s books are bringing joy and comfort to a child who needs it. Think beyond a charity resale shop such as Goodwill or the Salvation Army, and consider hospitals, police or fire departments, or social service departments. Each of these organizations come into contact with children in distress or need to occupy children they are helping. You may also consider a small local library. Call the charity or organization to see if they accept used children’s books and, if so, what restrictions they have on content and condition.
