How Do You Do The Svengali Signed Card Trick?
• Discover the name of an audience member before your show and write their name on a duplicate card with a marker. • Place a duplicate card in your impossible location before performing the trick. Some sample locations are listed in the Card in Pocket trick. • Set up your deck with alternating ordinary and duplicate cards before gathering your audience. • Riffle shuffle through the deck and claim to be mixing up the cards. Due to the long/short pattern of the cards, this will not mix up the cards. • Slowly riffle through the deck again and ask the spectator to tell you when to stop. • Allow the spectator to take the top card of the riffled off pile (the card that’s face down). Since the cards fall in pairs, this will be one of the duplicate cards. • Write their name on the card and show it to everyone clearly.
