How Do You Do The Heel Toe Hip Hop Step?
The heel toe step in hip hop is an easy step that can look impressive on the dance floor, especially if you do it quickly. It takes a little coordination and balance, so you must start slowly and work up to full speed to master the step. Extend your right foot in front of your body, touching the heel to the ground and keeping the toe pointed up. Keep your left foot slightly behind you, in line with your right foot. Pivot on your right heel as you take a step to the left with your left foot. Stay on the ball of your left foot and keep weight on both feet. Switch your feet with a quick hop, keeping your body in the same place. Now your left foot should be in front of your right foot with its heel on the ground and its toe in the air. Your right foot should be slightly behind you, and you should be on the ball of that foot. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you’re comfortable with the basic footwork. Add arm movements. For the heel toe step, your arms should just echo the momentum of your body.
