How Do You Do The Chest Breathing Yoga Technique?
In yoga, thoracic breathing (also known as chest breathing) helps to release tension. Follow these steps to learn how. Sit in a comfortable, meditative position, and observe your normal breath: your chest expands and contracts by using the diaphragm. Try to discontinue the use of the diaphragm for this exercise. Begin to breathe, instead, by expanding the rib cage. Inhale and expand and lift the rib cage as much as possible. Fill your lungs as much as you can, and hold this breath for a moment. Exhale and relax the chest muscles. Fully empty your lungs as much as possible. Keep the abdomen still; move only your chest. Repeat for 20 breaths.
