The PC muscle stretches from the pubic bone to the tailbone. Performing PC muscle exercises help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. These muscles support the uterus, bowel and bladder. Often these muscles become weak due to pregnancy, childbirth and aging. The most common problem stemming from weak pelvic floor muscles is urine leakage. PC muscle exercise, also known as kegel exercise, can be done anywhere at any time, and no one will be able to tell you are doing it. Doing PC exercises two to three times per day, 10 repetitions per session, should allow you to see benefits over time. Locate your pelvic floor muscles. Do this by squeezing your bottom together to stop the flow of urine. Once you are able to slow or stop the flow, you have found the correct muscles. Lie down or find a comfortable sitting position.
