Long trips by car can be tedious and boring, especially for kids confined to a car seat for long periods of time. Here are some useful tips that you can use when planning a car trip with young kids to keep them happy and content and for you to keep your sanity on the road. Plan ahead. When I know I have a long car trip ahead, I start to plan for it. I look out for small, inexpensive toys that I can purchase from the dollar store or other places cheaply. Target has a great $1 section and I purchase toys from there regularly and put them away as I know we travel frequently.
