How Do You Do Cha-Cha Sideways Steps?
To do the cha-cha sideways, dancers rock from one foot and back, then do the traditional three step before rocking toward the other side. It’s a basic step that is used in a variety of dance styles including country western and Latin. Begin by facing forward with your feet together. Step right on with your right foot to and rock back to your original position. Shift your weight from your right foot to your left foot and back to your right foot to do the traditional 3-count of the cha-cha dance. Lift each foot off of the ground slightly. Move your left foot to the left and rock back to your original position. Rock your weight from your left foot to your right foot and back again to your left foot. Lift each foot off of the ground slightly. Add additional style to your sideways cha-cha by shifting your hips and shoulders in time with your movements. You can incorporate arm motions as well.
