The stress of work can really get you without you even knowing it! It’s important to carve our a couple minutes every few hours to take notice of your breathing and make sure you’re getting enough oxygen to keep your body going. Without your coworkers ever knowing, you can relieve stress and feel more at peace by doing a couple simple breathing exercises. Take note of how you are sitting. Try sitting back in your chair with your back straight. Make sure your feet are flat on the ground or propped up on a foot rest, a few books or your trash can. Depending on your office conditions, you might have to get creative! Close your eyes. Breathe in through your nose. You want the breath to go into your abdominal area. Feel your belly swell with air. Exhale twice as slowly through your mouth. While breathing in and out, think of something calming.
