How Do You Do A Y Balance?
• Balance on whatever foot you feel comfortable with. For this article we’re balancing on our right foot. So, balance on your right foot and hold your left foot in bent towards you, as if you were sitting Indian-style. The left foot should be bent like that quad stretch except for in front and horizontal to the ground. • Make sure you have all of your balance. You need to do this in a wide open space in case you fall. You don’t want to fall and topple over and make an expensive vase fall. • Pull your left foot up in mid air so that it is straight and at an angle. • Keep your right arm up and at approximately the same angle. • If you look yourself in the mirror, or have someone take your picture, your body should have the shape of a Y. Your left leg and left arm should be the top of the Y along with your right arm on the other side. Your right leg (because we’re balancing on it) should be the stem.
