Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art known for its multitude of kicks. The sidekick, which is done in many combinations, builds a strong foundation for advanced kicking. Stand with your feet separated shoulder width apart with your torso facing sideways. Place both hands in guarding position turning your shoulders slightly toward the direction you are going to kick in. Pivot your back foot in the opposite direction of your kick. Lift your front leg, bending your knee and bring your knee into your torso. Push your knee outward until your leg is extended with a flexed foot.
