How Do You Do A Rumba Box Step?
The box step in the rumba is much the same as the box step for the samba, waltz or foxtrot; the difference is the timing of the steps. The box step is good for getting in synchronization with your partner before trying more complicated steps. Begin with the closed dance frame. Bend your right knee and step forward on your left foot on count 1. Pause on count 2. Bend your left knee and step forward and to the right with your right foot on count 3. Bring your left foot next to your right foot on count 4 and bend your right knee as you transfer your weight to your left foot. Repeat Steps 2 through 5, this time stepping back on your right foot and to the left with your left foot. Begin with the closed dance frame. Bend your left knee and step back on your right foot on count 1. Pause on count 2. Bend your right knee and step back and to the left with your left foot on count 3. Bring your right foot next to your left on count 4 and bend your left knee as you transfer your weight to your rig
