With technology developing rapidly, computers are constantly being upgraded and revised to allow for the newest, most cutting-edge devices to hit the market. What will you do with that old computer the next time you buy a new one? There are many useful ways in which you can dispose of an old personal computer. Retrieve all of your important data off of your hard drive and run a program to write over the drive so that deleted files will not be accessible to those who may inherit your computer. Use the CD-ROMs to store your data for later use. You may alternately remove your hard drive and keep it; however, if you are donating your computer for use this may defeat the purpose.
