In a town where jagged cliffs contain the powerful Pacific white caps and the wind is cold and dense, it is hard to imagine why anyone would want to settle in a place so desolate as this…until you actually arrive. I have been visiting Mendocino, California since I was about three years old and every time I come back, I am instantly reminded of its tranquility, comfort, and beauty. It is a place where fields of sweet blackberries, wildflowers and rattlesnake weed litter the tops of the cliffs and little wooden steps carve the pathway down to the coved beaches. On a clear day, the sun shines on the water making it turn an amazing sapphire blue, while the sun reflects off the caves that safe-guard each peaceful cove.
