How Do You Disconnect & Reconnect A Gas Dryer?
When moving a gas clothes dryer, you must properly disconnect and reconnect the appliance in order to avoid catastrophe. Working with gas supply lines can be dangerous if you do not follow the proper techniques. To avoid any mishaps, familiarize yourself with the proper technique before you start. Check the inside of your gas dryer. If there are clothes in the tub, remove them. Unplug the dryer cord from the electrical outlet and pull it away from the wall. Shut off the natural gas supply line attached to the dryer. Use a wrench to remove the flexible gas line connected to the supply source. Use Teflon tape to cap the end of the line to prevent leakage. Unlock the flexible gas line from the dryer. Remove the vent duct that is attached to the wall. Then remove the duct from the dryer itself. Store the hoses and duct in a separate box.
