How do you disassemble a three section prelit tree that has hook-in branches like regular artificial trees?
Do not try to take off the branches. Instead, you will find a plug connection between the bottom two sections. Disconnect it. Now go get a nice strong friend, or spouse… One of you pull from one end of the tree and the other from the other end. Try to twist a little as you pull — not yourself, the tree! It may take a few times and tugs, but it should come apart. If you can find the point of connection, you can try spraying a little WD40 at the joining point and wiggling the joint a little to spread it around. Since you don’t have a box (and since we could not get our big tree back INTO the box it came in!) you might want to consider wrapping up all three pieces in an old bedsheet and then taping the whole thing closed with packing tape. That will look funny, but at least it will keep the spiders and dust out! Good luck! We’ve been there, done that, got a couple of T-shirts!
