How Do You Disassemble A Remington Model 870 Express Stock?
The Remington model 870 Express is a pump-action shotgun that’s popular with sportsmen worldwide. Remington is known for producing high-quality firearms that are reasonably priced and the model 870 Express is no exception. The shotguns are designed for reliability and simplicity and can be disassembled with a few standard tools. To ensure that you don’t lose any parts while disassembling your shotgun stock, perform the procedure on a covered surface or workbench. Remember to verify that your shotgun is unloaded before attempting disassembly. Use a small Philips-head screwdriver to unscrew the two retaining screws on the rubber butt plate. Remove the butt plate. You will see two holes in the back of the stock; the lower one contains the retaining bolt. Use your flat-head screwdriver to unscrew the stock-retaining bolt and remove the stock.
