Long QT Syndrome is a disorder of the electrical impulses in the heart that can cause irregular or rapid heartbeats. Left untreated, this condition can result in sudden death. Long QT syndrome can be inherited or acquired from taking certain medications. An accurate diagnosis and prompt treatment may save your life. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor. Symptoms include sudden fainting during exercise or when alarmed or startled. Seizures are also a symptom of Long QT syndrome. Some people who have been diagnosed with epilepsy have Long QT.
