How Do You Diagnose Bacterial Vaginosis?
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is a very common infection and many women experience it at some point in their life. This infection is caused when the normal bacteria become unbalanced in the vaginal area. It is important to know the signs of Bacterial Vaginosis. Determine if you have any signs and symptons of Bacterial Vaginosis. Many women with BV have a bad smelling “fishy” odor, a thin, gray or white discharge and itching, burning and pain in the vaginal area. Call your gynecologist and schedule an appointment immediately if you have any of the symptoms mentioned in Step 1. Only your doctor can verify whether or not you actually have Bacterial Vaginosis. Go to your doctor’s appointment. You doctor will ask you to describe your symptons, give you a pelvic examination and take a sample of your discharge to send to the laboratory for testing.
