How Do You Develop Healthy Eating Habits For Finicky Eaters?
It can be very challenging when our children are Fussy Eaters. Before children develop unhealthy lifelong habits, try some of these eating tips on a consistent basis and you might see some delightful changes. Having a set routine is very helpful. Try to serve meals & offer snacks at similar times each day if possible. Try to avoid having your child eat at least one hour before meals. Don’t force your child to eat foods he or she does not like & be patient when introducing new foods. New foods may need to be introduced several times. Turn off the television during meals to minimize distractions. Avoid using dessert as a reward for eating. Use healthier dessert alternatives, like mixed fruit or muffins with fruit inside. Make an effort to stay as relaxed as possible. Don’t raise your voice or make facial grimaces when serving food or snacks. Generate excitement & pleasure around meal time. Make snacks fun! Use a cookie cutter for fun shapes and portion control of cheese, bread, tortillas
