Sometimes when you are troubleshooting a group policy problem it is nice to see which objects applied successfully and which failed or were filtered etc… Windows Vista and Windows 7 make it easy to get a nice read out of the group policy objects and it does it in a format that is accessible pretty much anywhere. Open a command prompt. From the run or search bar (Windows 7) dialog box Type cmd and press enter. This will bring up a DOS box. Type in the following command: gpresult /H filename.html Filename can be whatever you want to call it. You can also direct it to a specific place like c:\temp\filename.html Navigate to the folder you created the html file in. If you saved it to the c:\temp folder you can find that in explorer and open the html file. The result should be a neatly arranged file with a listing of all of the group policy objects that apply to that computer and any errors that occurred while applying will be listed. It will also tell you what group policies win if there
