How do you determine the location of the traceroute server?
We use 3 different methods to determine the server’s location: • GeoBytes’s IP address locator. This method is very reliable, but many IPs cannot be located. • Host name of the first few hops. • Whois record in Number Resource Organization, such as RIPE and APNIC. This method is unreliable, since it shows the location of the organization, not the actual server.
