All of your MS Outlook email messages, including attachments, are stored in a single file called a Personal Folder PST file. The file can become very large, very quick. It is a good idea to monitor the actual physical size of your PST file. The most accurate way is to locate your PST file and look at the size in kilobytes. Fire up MS Outlook 2007. On the menu bar, click Tools. Click Options… Click the Mail Setup tab on the top. Click the Data Files button which will display the file name and folder location of your PST file under the Filename column. Make a note of what you see under the Filename column. If you can not see all the information in the Filename column, you can click and drag the width of the filename column to make it a bigger width. The default file name and folder location will look like this Outlook.pst in “C:\Documents and Settings\xyz\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook” The xyz will be your actual Windows XP user id.
