How Do You Design A Tile Tub Enclosure?
Tile has long been the standard surround for tub and shower combinations. With water-resistant surfaces, attractive colors and a wide variety of tile types to choose from, tile’s popularity is as strong as ever. When thinking about how to design your tub tile enclosure it’s important to consider the style of the entire home and neighborhood and to make selections that will not date quickly, that will continue to work well in a wet environment, and be easy to clean and maintain, and that will enhance the value of the home. Measure the tub enclosure starting at the top of the tub to the ceiling and all three walls. On the graph paper draw a rectangle to represent each of the walls. The graph paper is scaled at ½-inch equals one foot. Measure the height of the tub and use a dashed line starting at the bottom of each of the rectangles to represent the tub (the bottom line indicates the floor).
