How Do You Design A Square Brick Patio?
A square brick patio can be a great way to add class and aesthetic appeal to your landscaping layout. Follow some simple guidelines, get the right materials, and you can add great value to your property with very little overhead. Drive in the stakes in a square pattern. Tie string to each stake close to the ground. Be sure the diagonals match so that you have a perfect square. Dig out the foundation bed with your shovel to a depth of at least 6 inches. Remove all the grass in the area first, starting at the edges. Keep to the string guide and do your best to maintain a straight line for the border. Remove any excess dirt, and keep checking with the measuring tape to make sure your depth is correct. For larger paving bricks or stones you may have to dig deeper. Slope your patio by gradually increasing the depth of the foundation bed as you move toward the preferred drainage area. Take your weed guard material, typically sold in rolls, and lay out overlapping strips across the whole bed.
