Using a computer-based training document is an excellent way to give your workers the skills they will need to operate the latest software programs. By building such a document, you can help your workers learn the program at their own pace, by using the screen shots and instructions you have designed. Log on to your computer and open Microsoft Word. Open a new blank document and save it to your hard drive or network share. Type an introductory paragraph about the program you are going to introduce. You may want to include a key of icons that flag important points, and explain your use of bold and italic type for commands and typing instructions. To create a screen-shot that you want to include in your training document, open the applicable program. Hold down the “Alt” key and press the “Print Screen” key.
