How Do You Design A Black Curtain?
Black is an old yet modern color for decor. It is not unacceptable to have black curtains in your home. There are many thicknesses, styles and types of black fabric available. The choices range from faux fur to lace. Black curtains match almost any type or style of decor and can be hung alone, under or over another color or print using separate curtain rods. Wash the fabric before using it to avoid shrinkage of the curtains after they are designed and made. Measure the window that you want to design the black curtains for. Use a tape measure to find the length and the width of the window. Add 6 or more inches to the length to ensure that the bottom edge of the curtain will fall below the edge of the window, or deduct 6 or more inches for curtains that will cover only the top half of the window. Double the measurement for the width of the window to create curtains that will ripple and pleat. Plan to make two curtains that are this measurement, per window. Lay your black fabric face down
