Continual use of a microwave oven can leave it smelling a little undesirable. Even if you always make sure to cover the contents, the smell of various foods is still left lingering. This is especially true if you frequently pop buttered popcorn. That smell can be just, well, really hard to get rid of. Begin by opening the microwave up and letting it air out for about half an hour. Part of the reason for these lingering odors is that they stay trapped inside and settle into yuck. Pour some common white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle. Do not dilute with water – use straight. Spray the inside of the microwave. Wipe off. Repeat this process again. Let the microwave air out about another 30 minutes. Into your thick glass jar mix two ounces of water, 4 whole cloves, a liberal amount of the cinnamon and nutmeg. Place the mixture in the microwave.
