How Do You Delete The System Restore Files From A Hard Drive?
System Restore resets a computer to an earlier date in the event of a virus attack, system crash or software conflict. System Restore effectively makes an image of the computer in its current state so that it can restore the computer to a time when it was functioning correctly. Because of this, System Restore files can take up quite a bit of space on a computer’s hard drive. Deleting the older system files can restore much-needed space on a hard drive. Click the “Start” button and then “All Programs.” Select “Accessories,” “System Tools” and “Disk Cleanup.” Choose to clean “Files from all users on this computer.” Select the drive with the System Restore files you wish to clean up, usually the C: drive, and click “OK.” Once Disk Cleanup has searched your computer, click the “More Options” tab in the window that pops up and click the “Cleanup” button in the System Restore and Shadow Copies section. Click “Delete” on the prompt that appears to delete the System Restore files.
