The Microsoft Windows XP operating system is shipped with the Internet Explorer Web browser. Within the Web browser, the History list of shortcuts to the URLs visited may be accessed in the History tool. The History tool records each URL visited and indexes the web addresses in the order in which they were visited, then lists the entries by day and week. The History of URLs may be quickly deleted using one of the Internet Explorer browser tools. Click the Windows “Start” button, and then click the “Internet Explorer” program link, or click the “Internet Explorer shortcut on the desktop. Click the downward-pointing arrow next to the “Tools” button on the top navigation bar. Click the “Delete Browsing History…” option. The Browser History dialog box will appear. Click the “Delete History…” button. A confirmation box will prompt to user to verify the deletion. Click “Yes.” All browser history shortcuts and links are now deleted.
